School Owner & Driving Instructor, David Cox, taught Driver's Education in the Chesapeake Public Schools system for over 29 years until the program was discontinued in the school division.
Cox Driving School, Inc. is bonded and insured. It is licensed and approved by the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles.

Cox Driving School offers The Behind the Wheel Instruction program to students under the age of 18 as well as to individuals 18 years of age and older who would like to obtain a Virginia Driver's license.
Virginia DMV Requirements:
If you are a Virginia resident under age 18, you must complete a state-approved driver education program and have held your Virginia learner's permit for at least nine months.
If you are a Virginia resident, 18 years of age or older and you have never had a license issued to you by any state, US territory or foreign country, you must hold a Virginia's learner's permit for at least 60 days or show compensation of a state-approved driver education program such as Cox Driving School.
Behind the Wheel Instruction Program
This course consists of a minimum of 14 periods of Behind-The-Wheel Instructions for students less than 18 years of age. (7 periods of observation and 7 periods of actual driving).
The course consists of approximately 7 days, which do not have to be consecutive. This driving school will try to accommodate the student's availability time and make a schedule accordingly.
